- Saturday, November 2, 2013 - 1K, 5K, 10K
- Sunday, November 3, 2013 - Half Marathon & Full Marathon
What a great weekend! Thank you to all of our sponsors, participants, volunteers and
community partners for making the Hamilton Marathon Road2Hope weekend another success!
We were happy to welcome many NYC marathoners! Hope you enjoyed your time in Hamilton
and we welcome you back next year! And thank you for the runners, volunteers and spectators
who helped make that happen at the last minute. The running community just all came together
as in this shared message to everyone below.
"First, let me say that once again you put on an outstanding race. I know there were a mass of
late-minute additions and you handled that well, in particular, opening registration and accepting
those who had trained for New York City at such a late hour shows exactly how well you understand
runners. We're appreciative. I met a woman at the race today who lived in Ottawa and
her daughter - a new yorker training for the NYC marathon in order to qualify for Boston - had come
to visit her. She was at the airport saying goodbye to her daughter and putting her on a flight home
to race NYC when she heard it had been cancelled. She told me her daughter was devastated until
she received a text from a friend still before the flight that confirmed there was an 'amazing race in Hamilton'
that was opening up registration to new york marathoners. She whisked her daughter out of the airport
last night, packed her into the car and drove overnight to be there this morning. Her daughter slept in
the car, ready to go at the 'full' start line. Her mother was raving about the race, the organizers (you guys),
and how grateful she was that she could find a way to put a spark back into her daughter's eyes.
I hope that woman made Boston. Either way, you made a great mark, I'm sure neither one of them
will forget the act of 'runners' kindness' you did by opening up registration."

AGAIN IN 2013 COURSE HAS NO TRAIN DELAY. NO DOUBLE LOOP IN 2013.
The full and half marathon courses has been changed to include more beauty and eliminate the TRAIN delay. A few more km. have been added to Ridge Rd. to eliminate the double loop.

What would the Hamilton Marathon be with out our volunteers and sponsors? Truly it would only be a
vision with no legs! However thanks to our many sponsors, and countless volunteers we are able to put
legs on this vision! The Hamilton Marathon has become a venue for countless charities to host a fun and
fabulous week-end of fun runs and extreme challenges. Families come to participate in the 1k, 5k, and
10k, and teens as young as 13 come to run a full marathon.
So hats off to all the countless number of volunteers and sponsors who stand behind us each
year, for the support of the local community and the reality of giving this vision legs, legs to
